Yields 10 Servings (No Liquid Smoke)

Ingredients:

  • 3 – 5 lb. pork butt or pork shoulder
  • 2 teaspoon of Som’ Good “Hawaiian Smoke” Salt Seasoning per pound
  • 1 cup water

Preparation:

  • Cut pork into 5 equal pieces
  • Place pork into a 6 qt. or 8 qt. Instant Pot and add pre-measured “Hawaiian Smoke”
  • Rub salt over all portions of the pork (use tong or food glove)
  • Add 1 cup water
  • Set Instant Pot to High Pressure Cook for 90 minutes —>
  • Natural Pressure Release for 45 – 60 minutes
  • Remove pork and pull with 2 forks, put aside
  • Add broth from the pot to the pork as desired for moist, juicy and flavorful Kalua Pork

Alternate Method

Crock Pot Slow Cooker: Generous rub of “Hawaiian Smoke” over entire surface of pork and pierce with carving fork. Place in slow cooker and set time for 8 – 12 hours on low. Check for doneness at 8 hours. If not done, check every hour up to 12 hours (cooking time is determined by weight of pork).
